While our package K-12 children and must be ready for another school year, we are constantly thinking about their safety. This is true both for their travel to and from school and their safety, and school grounds.
Drivers must remain vigilant parents. Children dart unexpectedly in traffic, often from between parked cars. Pedestrians and young people see a series of dangers while walking to school. Here are some basic safety tips to follow:
• Follow allTraffic lights and for the truth.
• Walk bike through intersections.
• Walk with a buddy.
• Wear reflective material. It makes you more visible in traffic.
The U.S. Dep 't. The National Traffic Highway Transportation Safety Administration offers the following safe cycling practices:
• Always wear a helmet.
• Always drive on the right side of the road. Not to go against traffic regulations.
• ride single file. WhenOvertaking cyclists or pedestrians, let them know where to shout something like, "Left"
• Always check behind you before changing lanes.
• Be aware of dangerous things in the street. Waste, potholes, gravel and storm drains may be losing control.
• Stop at all stop signs and all the lights on. Be especially careful at intersections.
• Always signal before turning left or right.
• All under controlYour bike. Do not swerve or make sudden turns.
• Use caution when driving next to parked cars to avoid damage from someone suddenly opening a car door in front of you.
• Listen for cars approaching from the side or behind you.
• Do not follow too close to a car. You can in the blind spot where the driver can not see, you can be safe and you can not stop when the car stops suddenly.
• Know your road signs and obey them.
• Alwaysready to stop.
• Wear bright clothing.
• Do not wear headphones, loose clothing or footwear unsuitable.
Remember these safety tips to enter and exit the school bus:
• Do you have a safe place to wait for the bus, away from traffic and the road.
• Stay away from the bus stop to a complete stop.
• As excited as you leave the bus and walk ten paces from the bus stop. Remember also that the driver of the bus cansee you best when you are away from the bus stop.
• Use the handrail to enter and exit the bus.
• Pay attention to the road. Drivers are required to follow the rules of the road, school buses, but not all do. Protect yourself and watch.
One might think that traveling by car is absolutely safe. But there are still rules to follow to avoid accidents while driving in a car must:
• Do not forget that most traffic accidents occur close to home.
•Seat belts are the best form of protection in the event of an accident. All must be connected properly: older kids in seat belts, child seats and the smaller children in child seats.
